http://www.ips.org.sg/events/casino/papers/Winston%20Koh.pdf

This website explains the economic impact of the development of a resort-casino in Singapore. It is titled “IPS forum on the Casino Proposal”. It is a report written by Associate Professor Winston Koh. It provides an overview of the gaming industry in Asia, the economic impact of an IR and also the effect it has on the gaming industry. The webpage includes research that he has done and statistics to support his claims. There are also references attached to show where his information came from.

This website is a news website which gives an overview of the whole IR project. It also includes the description of what the IR has to offer and plans of how it is going to be run. It also makes comparisons to the existing casinos in Genting. From here, we can think about how it is going to affect the economy in Singapore.

This website is set up by Radio Singapore International [RSI] and it is a company under MediaCorp. This website is entitled : ' How will the Marina Bay Sands Integrated Resort shape Singapore’s tourism and conference industry?.' The whole webpage mainly depicts an interview held with 2 key people and their opinions on how the tourism landscape will change as a result of the Marina Bay Sands integrated resort. Conferences and conventions were also discussed and how it would most probably be the main draw factor for tourists rather than casinos.

For this website, it talks a lot on the impact of both the integrated resorts on Singapore in general and hence, I will only extract the part which discusses the impact on tourism. It discusses on the long-term aspect of the integrated resorts and whether or not will there be a great increase in tourism dollars. It then moves on to talk about competition such as Hong Kong's disneyland and whether or not integrated resorts would still be a draw for tourists. And it ends of by describing what should be done in order to stay competitive.
