Topic:Manga Art Done By:Ong Yong Sen Introduction Manga or also known as Japanese comics has came a long way ever since it was introduced. The art has also varied from artist to artist and each person has their own personal way of drawing the characters and the way of how the characters like the hair or facial expressions are always changing. It is still very popular among fans who like Japanese manga and their are distinct artists who dedicate themselves to this and their are fans who does things like doujin and translation of the manga from Japanese to English. Yes, Manga has affected most of us and it is here to stay for a very long long time Resources Used Manga Helpers Community(2007). Retrieved July 14, 2008 from World Wide Web: http://mangahelpers.com/ Summary of Resource The source is rather informative as it focuses on the new famous manga titles chapters. They also do a translation of Japaese text into English and they have a portion of how to improve on their language speaking, drawing of certain characters, certain techniques on how to get certain effects and many more. Brief Evaluation of Resource As the site is a fan made website. There are a lot of reviews and certain posts might not be correct at all and that includes on how to draw the characters and stuff. The site is also rather difficult to find as it has almost no links to link in over here. Also the user is required to read a lot of posts before getting what they might require. There might be a search box but some of the post might not be helpful at all. Overall this site is quite good, however the user is required to do a lot of digging in order to get a topic on the drawing |

Purpose: The website is stated very clearly however, you are required to click two times before being able to find out what are their aims. Their purpose is to translate manga from the Japanese language to English, and they use quality translators so that reading them is fun. Coverage: The site mostly focuses on the manga translations and the teaching of the Japanese language to users online. The manga translations are rather limited to the very famous one but unpopular ones are not in the site at all but users can use the tool to translate the language themselves so that they understand what the book is saying. They mainly focus on the manga story and translations as well, however they also have a small portion for drawing techniques and just plain talking as well. However there aren’t linked to other sides unless the users post the links on the forum. Authority: I don’t think this is a authoritative source as this site is created out of pure fan desire and this site can be hardly found on any other sites Accuracy: The facts are accurate as they follow the manga the story and they did research on who are the manga artists and what are certain terms mean in Japanese. Biasness is one of the main part of the site as there are people who hate certain manga or those who like them so they either give civisms or opinions about it. The site is a factual and a opinion one as well where they also talk about how the storyline should go or how they should do certain techniques in reading Japanese. However since it is a forum, there are quite a lot of spelling mistakes and so on as they use chatting lingo to talk. Currency: The information is kept to date every week with every new manga out and it is well maintained as well. |
