As game is becoming more expensive to consumer because of the technology used to develop, hacker had found ways to pirate a game by removing the game protection and distributing it on the internet. It greatly impact the game developer and the whole industry because this is what feeds them. if no one buy from them, they won't have money to maintain operational. This is the reason why some smaller company are reluctant to develop game on a large scale because it might cause them to wind down.
